Which tape for which job?

• General masking: Le'Mix LM800 green masking tape in 18mm, 22mm, 36mm and 48mm.
• Sharp paint edges and stripes: 3M Scotch Fine Line tape in 3.2mm, 6mm and 12mm, and 3M 471 blue vinyl fine line tape.
• Soft-edge blending: 3M Smooth Transition Tape for jambs and blend lines.
• Heat and moisture: 3M aluminium foil tape.

Common questions

What is fine line tape used for?

Fine line tape gives a crisp, sharp paint edge. It's used for stripes, two-tone paint jobs and the first edge of a masking job, with wider tape and paper over the top.

Why does my masking tape leave residue?

Hardware tape isn't made for paint solvents or heat. Use automotive masking tape and remove it once the paint has flashed off.
